Death of Angelina Allens

Angelina Allens, who taught special needs children at the HCET, died suddenly in early November 2013. She was buried at Grootfontein after a service at Hanglip Farm.

Angelina, the daughter of Dawid and Taisie Allens, was born on Grootfontein Farm on 29 June 1981. She attended the Poortjie Farm School, the Umthombo Wolwazi Combined Farm School at the HCET, and a high school in Michell’s Plain in Cape Town. She then studied at the Motheo Further Education and Training College in Bloemfontein.

She started working at Umthombo Wolwazi in 2005. During her eight years at the Trust, she completed a course in Early Childhood Development at Khululeka in Queenstown, and obtained a Higher Certificate in ECD (NQF Level 5) at the Custoda Trust in Delportshoop.

Angelina impressed everyone with her dedication and commitment to her work. She was a beloved friend and colleague, and will be missed by all.
